Your volunteer time counts in your community service obligations, whether you need them for school, scouts, or something else.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
I feel strongly that it is important for youth to listen and connect with our senior citizens. This builds cross-generational rapport with them, when we are really talking to them and asking them about their needs. There is a lot to learn from their lifetime experience. This companionship between generations (kids and elderly) is also very beneficial to the YMCA and to other local non-profit organizations in our community. Without this purposeful activity, we as the younger generation tend to be busy all of the time without stopping to understand our elders more deeply.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
